Communication is needed along all 5 principles of the Mental Capacity Act (2005). Communication plays a pivotal role in mental capacity assessments.  It is critical individuals being assessed are supported to make their decisions.  Information must be given a way that helps the individual understand as well as a method that allows them to communicate their decision and ask questions.
